My Home Stereo

over the years i've developed a love for high-end stereos. i enjoy listening to music and have a tendency toward anything electronic (do i sound like a man?).

my journey began when i was in high school and started messing around with a friend (jake) and his car stereo. i eventually had my own "decent" car stereo (three of them over the years, but no longer) and that naturally led me to home audio.

the interest soon matured into a full-fledged hobby/disease (much to the chagrin of my wife). which leads me to where i am today... out a bunch of money because i like stereos and listening to music.

anyway, i will post on occasion about topics related to stereos, covering such things as: amplifiers, speakers, power filtering, cd players, vacuum tubes, cables and more.

you can catch a glimpse of my stereo as it stands today at this page:

Have you ever had an interest in turntables/records? Some people are really into that, but I don't see the attraction.

yes, of course. but not enough to take the plunge. my advisor Jake really wants me to get into it but i just can't. one audio format is enough for me right now (CD's).

they do have a great sound to them. i just don't like static/popping, i don't like how i can't skip through songs easily, and i don't like the cost of setting up a nice analog rig.

oh well.
